You get
One email per change: the old figure, the new one, the date each was read, and a link to the page it came from.
You get
A flag when a vendor stops publishing something it used to publish — a price that becomes “contact sales” is a change worth knowing about.
You don't
A weekly digest, a nurture sequence, or a call. There is no sales team here to hand you to.
You don't
Your address passed to a vendor. No one you are watching learns that you are watching.

Buyer decision

Buyer-first recommendation
WHY

If you already run on Zoho or Google Workspace: Zoho CRM. The free tier covers a team of three, and the pieces already talk to each other.

If you are starting from zero and expect to grow: HubSpot's free plan. Check the per-seat price before you commit — the headline rate assumes an annual commitment, and paying month to month costs materially more.

CHOOSE LESS ANNOYING CRM IF

A team of one to ten that wants a CRM actually in use during the first week, with no tiers to arbitrate and no per-feature negotiation.

Walk away if: You need conditional automation, a pipeline per team, or forecasting. This product will never stretch that far, and waiting for it to is the expensive mistake.

IMPORTANT LIMIT

Less Annoying CRM: One plan, and no way up from it. On the published page we checked, advanced automation, territory management and sales forecasting are not offered as paid upgrades, so a team that needs those capabilities has to switch rather than buy a higher tier. Checked Aug 20, 2026 on the vendor's page.

CHOOSE FRESHSALES INSTEAD IF

A sales team that wants pipeline, email and phone in one place without assembling three tools.

Walk away if: You are comparing on headline price alone. On this product that comparison is misleading in your own favour, which is worse than misleading against you.

CHOOSE ZOHO CRM INSTEAD IF

Teams already using Zoho or Google Workspace, where the integration work is largely done before you start.

Walk away if: You want one tool and no ecosystem. Zoho's value compounds as you adopt more of its suite; used alone it is a competent CRM competing with more focused ones.

CHOOSE HUBSPOT CRM INSTEAD IF

Starting from nothing with a plan to grow, without a migration in six months. The free tier is genuinely usable, not a demo.

Walk away if: You want predictable costs as you add people. Per-seat pricing with a commitment discount rewards planning and punishes hiring in bursts.

WATCH OUT

You have fewer than about five active deals and one person can still track owner, next step, and follow-up date in a spreadsheet.

CHECK BEFORE BUYING

Capsule CRM — main limitation: not confirmed at the source yet; check it on the maker's own page before you buy.

EVIDENCE

Publisher evidence and limits are used where they support the choice; unsupported claims stay out of the recommendation.

Use this evidence when

Which option fits this buyer, using only what these vendors publish?

◇ The answer holds for the source-backed evidence this guide names and compares — nothing beyond it.

◇ The main graphic answers the constant winner / no crossover question for the stated buying condition.

◇ The comparison table adds real cost, free tier, user / collaboration limits, billing / transaction limits, pipeline / sales fit, automation, integrations / addons, plan limits, volume / billing unit, project / workspace limits, collaboration fit, commerce economics and usage limits where vendor evidence supports it.

· Every dimension this decision needs has source-backed evidence on this page.

THE DECISIONBigin (Zoho)NO CROSSOVER

The cheapest CRM read here is Bigin (Zoho) Express at $9/user/mo — Zoho’s cheapest CRM is not Zoho CRM ($14/user/mo, Standard), and that holds at every team size: per-seat pricing is linear and no read plan carries a seat floor. $9/user/mo

Zoho CRM Standard: $14/user/mo

Less Annoying CRM One plan: $15/user/mo

HubSpot CRM Starter: $20/user/mo

Pipedrive Essential: $24/user/mo

Freshsales Growth is the closest rival: $11/user/mo — $2/user/mo behind at every size. Capsule publishes no readable monthly price (our toggle produced no distinct state, twice): compared at its MOST favourable base (annual, $18/user/mo) against the others at their most expensive base (monthly), it still trails 4 of them — an a-fortiori conclusion, not a base alignment.

Checked August 24, 2026 from a United States egress — the same exit family as every figure on this page; a billing toggle is recorded as a separate condition. Seat floors: none published on the pricing pages used here — bounds live in plan caps (Bigin (Zoho) Express: 50,000 records) and could live in terms not covered by this page.

Evidence behind the choice
Less Annoying CRM$15 per user per month, plus applicable tax — one price, everything included

One plan, and no way up from it. On the published page we checked, advanced automation, territory management and sales forecasting are not offered as paid upgrades, so a team that needs those capabilities has to switch rather than buy a higher tier.

Freshsales$9 per user per month, billed annually

The advertised price is the annual-billing price, and the AI assistant is a separate paid add-on rather than part of the plan. The number you compare and the number you pay are not the same unless you commit for a year and skip the add-on.

Zoho CRMUS$14 per user per month

The free tier stops at three users. A fourth person means moving to a paid plan immediately — not at some future scale point, but the day you hire. Budget for that transition rather than discovering it.

Publisher fact checked Aug 20, 2026View at Zoho ↗
HubSpot CRMFrom $7 per seat per month on an annual commitment, or $20 per seat per month paying monthly

Two prices for the same seat. The advertised Starter rate assumes an annual commitment; paying month to month costs several times more per seat. Both figures are on the vendor's own pricing page — compare the one you will actually pay, not the one in the headline. The free plan is capped at two users.

PipedriveUS$14 per user per month billed annually, or US$24 month to month — excluding VAT

The pricing page says “no hidden costs”, then sells five add-ons on top: LeadBooster from $32.50, Web Visitors $41, Smart Docs $32.50, Projects $16, Campaigns $13.33 — per user, per month. On the entry seat, the first add-on more than doubles the bill. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial, and prices exclude VAT. Checked against the Pipedrive pricing page.

Bigin (Zoho)US$9 /user/month billed monthly, or US$7 /user/month billed annually — “Express and Premier have no user limits and are charged per user license”

Express caps records at 50,000; Premier at 100,000 (Bigin 360: 1 million) — a record bound, not a seat floor: “Express and Premier have no user limits”.

Don't buy anything if…

Nobody owns data entry or weekly cleanup. Pick that owner before choosing a CRM, because the page can compare price and limits but not force adoption.

Your real problem is missed callbacks. Define the callback owner and timing first; then buy the CRM whose limits and automation fit that process.

Questions people actually ask

What does “starting price” leave out?

Add-ons, most often, and the billing term. Pipedrive writes “no hidden costs” on its pricing page and sells five paid modules alongside it — the cheapest is close to the price of an entire entry seat. HubSpot and Freshsales advertise the annual-commitment rate. Read the add-on list and the billing toggle before comparing two products on their headline numbers.

Is a free plan the same as a free trial?

No. Start on a free plan when its published user and feature limits cover the team you have now; treat a trial as a temporary test before a paid bill starts. Two products here have a real free tier; the others offer trials of 14 to 30 days.
